As always, I've been slacking with the nail blog. Facebook posts always just seem to be that much easier! But don't fear - I'm not giving up on the blog, not by a long shot. I've had a couple bumps in my personal life come up, which involved completely abandoning my apartment (and my nail studio) - but I will get back on track, and there will be loads of posts. But for now, stick with me for a bit.
Today's post is a simple Gelish manicure that I did on my cousin for a relative's graduation from the Navy :) Gotta say I love how they came out. The base is "Wiggle fingers, wiggle thumbs. That’s the way magic comes", topped with white acrylic paint stripes, Konad/Cheeky Anchor stamps and red acrylic paint for the hearts. I even got the chance to do her daughters nails similar too!

I think I've come to like my "quickie" posts better than my long-winded ones. So I'm going to keep everything short and sweet from now on unless people object :) These are glitter toes that I did on myself in late June before I went on a cruise. The process is really simple Gel polish with glitter embedded, a little hand-painted artwork and you're done! I promise they sparkle much more in person than they do in these photos. Also, there were 3 colors of glitter used here - on the big toes there is a gradient from light to dark (top to bottom) though its hard to see. Then i put a different color on each toe light ot dark going towards the pinkie toes.

This was my first venture into using more than one color of colored acrylic powder in one nail... and this was done nearly a year ago. Sheesh! It was a bit interesting too because the purple wasn't even acrylic... just pigment. So after I messed up with that, and finally mixed it with some clear, the nail went a lot more smoothly. There's some blue and lime green and a clear corner too. This is the ONLY acrylic nail that I've done with multicolors, and I think its time to give it another go when I get home in a few days.

I'm in the home run - the last 4 days of my 5 week job offshore. As a reward, I've ordered new and fun Light Elegance gel paints and glitter gels, because I can never have enough glitter. Can't wait to get home and try these puppies out! :)
