Sculptured Silver and White Gel Nails

I did this nail a few months ago, again just trying to work out how to work with gels and to nail down the french application when it comes to sculpting nails.  This nail is all Light Elegance gel products.  I hand mixed in glitter to the pink gel builder to do the nail bed.  I then used the white builder for the tip and added on "Icicles" glitter gel around the smile line.  Icicles is sort of a confetti glitter style, and i wish i had used something with smaller particles in order to make it blend better, but it was still a good first try.  That's what practice is all about isn't it?

So you haven't been seeing many posts from me.  Life has pretty much exploded, but in a very good way.  I've only been off my ship for less than 2 weeks, and I'm one week away from going back out to sea.  Its been a whirlwind of trying to spend time with my boyfriends, family and friends as well as moving the rest of my belongings from Florida to our new apartment in Pennsylvania.  And yes, for the record, I'm moving in with my boyfriend and that's a brand new experience too.  So life has been crazy, but good :)  Hopefully once things have settled I'll have some time to get some more posts up... maybe not new work by me, but at least some new featured artists.

Absence

Please forgive my absence for the last week and the rest of this one.  Its been a whirlwind since I got off the ship and internet has been spotty at best, but hopefully i'll be back blogging by mid next week!  Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Clear and Silver Sculptured Nail

Of all the nails that I've done so far, this is one of my most favorites.  I only did the one nail though, so if someone wants a full set of these, just let me know!  I'd love to see how a whole set looks.  These are sculptured gel nails.  The nail bed is a cosmetic cover pink by Light Elegance with glitter that I hand mixed in. the silver is "Icicles" glitter gel by Light elegance, and of course the clear is Light Elegance also.  The last picture is all blurry, but it really shows the glitter :)  Sometimes its just so hard to capture how nice nails turn out on camera!

As for me, I'm ONE day away from getting off the ship.  Thats right.  So if you don't here from me for a little bit, its because im having too much fun on land.  Well, actually it'll be more like, I'm too busy trying to get me and my boyfriend moved into a new apartment, but you know what i mean.  I'll post again as soon as i can!

You lucky Land Lovers - I miss doing nails!

The post should say it all... I'm 27 days into the trip and I'm going absolutely insane because I wish I could be doing nails.  I miss all my pretty glitter and gel and acrylic, i even miss my fake practice hand.  This happens pretty much every single trip out to sea at about 3 1/2 weeks, so this is exactly par for the course.  So I'll leave you today with my pretty pink and white gel practice that I did before leaving for work using Young Nail's products.  These are my 4th, 5th and 6th try at doing gel pink and whites.  And yes, thats individual nails that i'm counting, not full sets... so with only 3 pink and white's attempted before these, I think I'm doing pretty darn good.  The smile lines still have a little bit of wobble, but I bet if I get a few full sets of these babies in, I'll be good to go! Takers?
For those of you who choose favorite nails - mine is the one on the right.  Its perfect in my opinion :)
