Go somewhere else, no seriously, I even have a recommendation :)

I'm going to do something today that I rarely do.  I'm going to send you wonderful readers off to a different blog.   I'm sitting here looking at my few measly posts that i have saved on my computer to last me until I get to land and the real world in two weeks... and honestly I'm not impressed.  Actually, I'm close to mortified at how bad they are.  So I'm going to recommend a different blog to keep you guys busy.

So here it is - and i apologize because it's kind of geared towards licensed nail techs.  But whether you're licensed or just messing around with nail polish, this blog is delightful.  Read?  Its Maggies Rants and Raves from Nails Magazine (  Seriously, she's witty, tells it how it is, and speaks like a real person.  On top of it all, she really knows her stuff.  She's a great nail artist, with her own salon, and an affiliation with one of the best Nail Magazines out there.... so really, can you argue with that?  I certainly can't.   So while I'm continuing to struggle to get enough DECENT nails to do regular posts, keep up with Maggie, because she's pretty great.

And as for me, never fear... I  have one good post to put up next week, and then I'll be on land, ready to lock myself away for a bit and just do some new nail things.  Until then!

Sailor Toes

Sorry ahead of time to all you viewers who hate toes.  Personally I hate putting mine up here, but sometimes a pedicure is just too cute to not share :)  This is actually one of my favorites so far, but apologies for the pictures, they really don't do it justice.  One of these days I'll get around to making a light box, but today is not that day... and probably not anytime within the next few months to be honest.

Anyway, Back to the pedicure.  For this pedicure I used OPI Cuckoo for this Color, layered with a very thin layer of OPI Silver Shatter polish.  The Silver Shatter didn't really "shatter too much, mostly just on my big does, but its sheer enough and with a bunch of small little "shatter" lines in it, that you can still tell what color is underneath.  In the sunshine, its a pretty great look (and again, no sunshine pictures, sorry!).  For the Anchor, I used Konad white stamping polish and (I think) BM 08 stamping plate.  Sorry I forgot to write down the number, but after some internet searching - I think 08 is correct.  Anyway.  I had to go over the Anchor with my white striper from Sally's and topped it all off with OPI Rapid Dry topcoat - One of my favorites because it has a nice thick consistency, but not too thick. So here are a few pictures of the end result.

Well, that's all for today folks.  I may add in a few Text-only posts coming soon.  We'll see though.  I'm just glad to be back blogging some cute nails!  Until next time!

Bathroom Reno - Last Post on why I've been so busy lately

This is my last non-nail post for a while.  I promise after this one, it'll be back to business :)  As I explained in my last post, during my last 5 week break, I went crazy and reno'd my kitchen and bathroom all by myself.  So here are the pictures that go along with the bathroom.  Anything is better than horrible pink pink pink, and I couldn't be happier with the end result.  My home finally feels like a home!

Here's what the bathroom looked like for starters.  Pink everywhere.
All my cabinets have these weird towel holders... this one is a bear.  As cute as it is, time for it to go.
The horrible horrible peanut brittle colored countertop.  What a bad idea that was 1969.
Empty, prepped and ready to go.  Ohhh the pink.
1 coat.  I had to wait to do the bathtub because i had to stand on it to get the higher up tiles.
2 coats, toilet still there.
Countertop and sink painted too :)

Toilet out, cabinets painted.  I dont have a picture yet with the new white toilet in, but you get the picture.  Total transformation.  Thank goodness.  Its not 100% amazing, because there's no medicine cabinet or anything like that, but just getting rid of the pink made me feel a lot better.  Now I can get back to concentrating on fun things, instead of necessary things :) Like nails!  My first couple nail posts aren't going to be anything amazing.  I barely had a chance to do anything before I left for work, but something is better than nothing.  I do have a fun nautical theme post coming up :)  Until then!
